Glad you asked!
Hackpalachia is an inclusive, entrepreneurship-focused hackathon for students and young professionals in the Appalachian region.
You'll have the opportunity to work with students from universities throughout the region to tackle tough problems, gain leadership skills, learn about entrepreneurship, and hone your artistic, business, or coding skills.
Guided by our expert mentors and staff, you can work on tough problems that have a real impact on your community.
You can bring your own project or product, join a new team and help bring their idea to life, or come up with a new idea and work on it during the day to pitch that evening.
Success will depend on not only the uniqueness of your idea, but also in how you've validated that idea, and in any prototypes you have built.
Known as "the ARC", the Academic & Research Center is an 89,000-square-foot joint academic building that houses researchers from the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Russ College of Engineering.
Weekend parking near the event at the Stocker Center, or the Convocation center is free, but please follow signage for possible parking restrictions.
